Homegrown Rhubarb & Custard Brûlée Blondie
Some bakes start with a flavour idea. This one started in the veg patch.
Our Homegrown Rhubarb & Custard Brûlée Blondie is made with rhubarb picked from our own patch here at Lane Head. Sharp, fresh, proper British rhubarb, baked into our buttery white chocolate blondie with a soft vanilla custard-style middle and finished with a crackly brûléed top.
It’s creamy, tangy, buttery and nostalgic, like rhubarb and custard sweets grew up, moved to the countryside, and got themselves a blowtorch.
Each blondie is baked low and slow for that dense, fudgy Brownie Heaven texture, with pieces of homegrown rhubarb running through the bake and a roasted rhubarb stem on top for a proper seasonal finish.
This is a very limited patch-to-postbox drop. Once this crop of rhubarb has gone, this blondie goes with it.
